Ruby Usman

Ruby was born in the slums of Karachi, Pakistan. She has experienced sexual abuse at the hands of many men as a child; some of them strangers and others, close family members. She grew up as a Muslim woman and experienced violence as an integral part of society and culture. She now writes about these traditions and hopes that by starting these debates, a new face of Islam is revealed. A new Islam with love, compassion and forgiveness for ALL irrespective of their gender, race and colour.

I think it is all three Driven by Islam, fomented by culture and blindly followed by individuals who use Religion as an excuse to be an ass-hole. Christians are known to be violent against women and Non-heterosexuals and especially children when used by individuals that way and when it pervades culture. One of my favorite books is “The New Revelations” a Conversation with God by Neale Donald Walsch.
In it God keeps saying “You’ve got me all wrong!”. I liked it so much I bought the original trilogy of the Conversations With God books. Keep shouting your message Ruby, the world needs to hear it!
